Last Friday night over Šoštanj, Slovenia a storm unleashed an incredible display of power.
Three massive cloud-to-ground bolts lighting up the sky above the local power plant.
Moments like these remind me why storm chasing is pure adrenaline. ⛈️

A rare mothership over Slovenia.
This classic supercell developed near Žalec and quickly evolved into a stunning stacked structure, with good rotation and a sculpted, layered base. It hovered low over the fields like something out of a sci-fi movie a sight we don’t often get to witness in this part of Slovenia.

Caught in the storm, soaked, shaking… and then — this.
A massive CG strike hit the sea just 800 meters away from where I stood.
Raindrops, blown highlights, chaos — but sometimes that’s where the soul of the photo lives.

This is not perfection. This is reality.

A strong HP supercell storm over Dravsko polje(Slovenia), on Friday, June 7, caused enormous damage to crops and cars. Hail size was up to 8cm.
